Single-opening positions

We are hiring a chief of staff to work closely with the executive director (Paul Christiano) and take on significant responsibility for hiring, governance, management, comms, and automation.

Applications to our automation lead position are now closed. We are accepting expressions of interest for an automation engineer, who would assist the automation lead in automating ARC's research activities using AI. We do not currently have a concrete timeline for whether or when we would hire for this role.

Researcher positions

The ARC research team is hiring!

We are primarily seeking candidates for visiting researcher positions, which we offer year-round. While visiting researcher appointments typically run for 10 weeks, we can be flexible with the duration. Most of our team members join as visiting researchers first, as this allows both sides to ensure a great fit. While we are open to hiring directly for permanent positions, this path has significantly higher requirements.

Most successful candidates have a strong theoretical background (in math, physics or computer science, for example). Empirical machine learning background is a plus, but is not required for a strong application.
