Dead Doctors Don’t Lie
In listening to the tape of Dr. Joel Wallace, Dead Doctors Don’t Lie, I found him totally informative and entertaining. For those of us who want accurate information on health and Longevity, from a doctor who has the ethical line on medicine well open, this tape is totally entertaining. A Vet, M.D. and extraordinary in his nutritional wisdom, Mr. Wallace could be just what one is looking for from a DOCTOR.
One of his comments on the tape is; “Stay away from Doctors” sparing no one cover, for what could be considered sins of omission. The good news is, the solutions are all natural and provided by Mother Earth. Golly!

Walking Out
For those of you who would like a tactile/resonant Work-out to feeling the real
while walking I recommend feeling the breath expanding and contracting the body.
Taking a walk and feeling the breath expanding the upper body open as well as lifting the upper body up off the hip girdle will yield some very interesting results after 20 minutes or more. Gravity becomes easier to handle and we can feel lighter in the body. This is a workout with full diaphragmatic breathing.
“Combining Full Awareness of Breathing with full awareness of the movements of our body during daily activities—walking, standing, lying, sitting, working—is a basic practice to cultivate concentration and live in an awakened state.”

Could be that this world competition will be coming to America one day! Being a member of the World Yoga Union and the International Yoga Federation I am kept abreast of the growth of the many yearly events. On the one hand some organizations and Yogis view this competition as a corruption of the original teachings of yoga. I find it both, Felliniesque and interesting from a historical point of view. Considering that many young people take their yoga asanas very seriously and will have a grounding in the asanas I think that physically there will be more healthy people evolving from this excursion.

Dear Harmony Hathaway,
Yes, I so agree with you about the twenty minute workout - getting the breath
pumping with deep diaphragmatic breathing during a walk is, indeed, energy
"getter". I am preparing to act a one-man show this weekend, THE WORLD OF CARL
SANDBURG and I have no choice but to prepare as the opera singer prepares before
singing an opera. The benefits are great and I feel differently than my everyday
routine of "shallow" breathing in comparison. Perhaps we are all one-man shows
and should start using our bodies to the max (full breath and movement of
walking) instead of protecting ourselves from death all the time. LOL Just some
thoughts and, as always, thanks so much for your insight and encouragement.

Harmon,
Thank you for the link to Dr. Wallace’s site. I have a tape of his, and I am
most impressed about what he has to say about nutrition and medicine. I will be
visiting his website.

Dear Dr. G seems only fitting that today we honor Carl Sandburg with the
presentation of one of his poems.
HAPPINESS
I ASKED the professors who teach the meaning of life to tell
me what is happiness.
And I went to famous executives who boss the work of
thousands of men.
They all shook their heads and gave me a smile as though
I was trying to fool with them
And then one Sunday afternoon I wandered out along
The Desplaines river
And I saw a crowd of Hungarians under the trees with
Their women and children and a keg of beer and an
Accordion.
CARL SANDBURG
I have seen your one-man performance of Carl Sandburg’s work many times and know this is a special treat for people of all ages.

Yes, Harmon, HAPPINESS is a great poem, so.......here's another! I love the last lines, which it's author had no trouble living by the good part of a century.
JOY by Carl Sandburg
LET A JOY KEEP YOU
REACH OUT YOURS HANDS AND GRAB IT
AS ITS RUN BY,
AS THE APACHE DANCER CLUTCHES HIS WOMAN.
I HAVE SEEN THEM LIVE LONG
AND LAUGH LOUD,
SENT ON SINGING,
SINGING,
SMASHED TO THE HEART
UNDER THE RIBS
WITH A TERRIBLE LOVE.
JOY ALWAYS,
JOY EVERYWHERE,
LET A JOY KILL YOU.
KEEP AWAY FROR THE LITTLE DEATHS.
KEEP AWAY FROM THE LITTLE DEATHS.
